Alka-Seltzer is a cure-all pain reliever sold worldwide. It was launched in 1931. Its initial purpose was to relieve minor pains such as headache, fever, inflammation, heartburn and hangovers. This effervescent antacid can help neutralize excess stomach acid. Later on Alka-Seltzer was developed to help against flu and colds.
This is a medication used over the counter. It comes in the form of dissolving tablets. When dipped in water, a carbonated solution is formed. Alka-Seltzer is sold in various flavors.
Whereas in the past Alka-Seltzer offered one product only, it has expanded and nowadays it has an entire line of products that includes over the counter medications sold on a global basis. They are dissolving tablets for different pains and aches. The medications should be taken with water but they can also work without water as human saliva can dissolve them too. Alka-Seltzer’s long history includes an antacid without aspirin supplements called Alka-Mints. It was launched in 1994 but the company ceased the production of this type of medication in 1997.

Vase
Alka-Seltzer can be very helpful and effective about cleaning some parts of the house. Basically, you can clean every item that can hold some water. For example, you can clean vases that have dirt stains inside and on the bottom. To do that drop two tablets of the medication into the vase and add water. Let it rest for a couple of minutes so that the tablets can work.
You don’t need to do any scrubbing or rubbing. Just let the solution work for a while. After that rinse. You will be delighted with the results.
Toilet
Alka-Seltzer can work on the toilet too. Drop two tablets of it into the toilet bowl and wait for a while. When you come back, brush and flush the toilet.
Alka-Seltzer can be helpful for the tank as well. If you drop a couple of tablets into it every now and then, it will be fresher. An advantage of the product is that its smell is better than that of other chemically-based cleaners. Generally, it is not irritating. Plus, using Alka-Seltzer can also save you money. Three dozens of tablets will cost you a few dollars.
Jewels
Fill a glass with water. Drop a couple of Alka-Seltzer tablets. Drop the jewels inside and wait for a while. You don’t need to rub them or something. Just take them out and wipe them with a towel or place them on a cotton cloth to let dry.
Pan
If you have stubborn stains on your pan, use Alka-Seltzer to get rid of them. Fill the pan with water and drop six tablets of the medication. Let it rest for about an hour. When the time is up, scrub well. Next, rinse and let dry. You will be amazed by the results.
Drain
If a drain has clogged, Alka-Seltzer can help. Drop three tablets of the remedy in the drain and add some white vinegar (a cup of the liquid will be enough). Let it rest for a couple of minutes. When the time is up, pour hot water into it for a few minutes. Alka-Seltzer should have worked just fine.
There is no need to buy expensive cleaners when there is a product that is as efficient and helpful as Alka-Seltzer.
